Research Synthesis and Data Science

To harness existing evidence for both further research and practical application, it needs to be compiled in a suitable form. Research syntheses are a valuable tool for identifying, processing, and summarizing studies relevant to the state of research, especially in fragmented research areas. In fields characterized by a lack of studies, examples of good practice may be utilized as a supplement for research syntheses.

In this research focus, we develop ways to harness the power of both existing evidence and good practice to inform further research and evidence-based decisions. This is often also part of our projects on educational issues related to Digital Transformation and Empowerment or of and our projects regarding cultural participation and arts education. In all projects related to research synthesis and data science, we apply research methods including text mining, predictive modeling, or topic modeling.
